Testing...the return of Bean, Sween the bean

Tonight, over some delicious red and orange muscat wine, we played a nerd game at my house KKW (thats kappa kappa wong Gen II, house of awesome azn baking girls); with the recent release of Quantum of Solace, I decided to name all the 007 movies that had been made in history. Naturally I ticked them off by recalling their somewhat memorable soundtracks. I fell short by one film. Perhaps attributable to its less than memorable plot line...

The came the viewing of the original 1954 version of "Sabrina", one of my favourite films of all time. Up until tonight, disgracefully, I'd only seen the Julia Ormond and Harrison Ford remake. Much to Al's dismay. However, I do stand corrected. Audrey Hepburn can't help but exude loveliness, and Humphrey Bogart had his certain sense of offbeat charm. It's been a while since I watched a B&W film, with the last time being the castro theatre cinema double on the streets of San Fransisco.

So I'm waiting for that beeper to go off so I can frantically try and recall a half a dozen passwords to try and support a system that remains largely an enigma to me.

Tomorrow, I get to see Aidy's new apartment. Finally. I can pretend decorate in my head, like when I used to visit pristine project homes as a child.
First Daisy in Sept, then Aidy in Oct. People growing up and acquiring a mortgage. It was a dream of mine earlier this year, but it seems to have diminished with the crushing weight of responsibilities and poor economic outlook.

I can't wait for that place I call my own, where I can make tangible changes that are to my tastes...but for now I shall amuse myself with a mini garden project. Basil, Oregano, Mint, Thyme, Rosemary and cherry tomatoes, just to name a few. The exorbitant prices coles puts on fresh herbs may just be enough to prompt me to grow some green fingers (if they'll turn properly).

Today, over yet another farewell lunch to the waning number of contractors in our team, I heard some fascinating stories of other worlds; countries which I've yet to place my hungry eyes on. No Oranges in Cars due to straying elephants. Cafes with sketches on the wall detailing the great escape. I really am but a insignificant grain of sand on an endless shoreline.
But as the wise Cara once read from her book on the Chaos theory - how do we measure the perimeter of a shoreline? do we include the rocks? the foam of a fresh wave washing back into the ocean? So then, how much smaller do I become in this 'unknown'?
The point I'm trying to make? I'm so ignorant and clueless about the ways of the world. Unless I get exposure I'll never know.

So I'll start with the Great Escape.
Who knows, maybe if I read enough I might discover just how to do it...
